First blog post of the new year, typed on the miniscule keyboard of my i-pad. Yes, Santa was more than generous, though I might have fared better if he had brought a swift miracle cure for the flu/bronchitis that I have been (and still seem be suffering from.

On the subject of things viral - I am not sending this from the i-pad to "show off" - it merely that every time I try to use my main computer to get on the blog, a Google announcement appears promising dire consequences if I use the PC to type the blog. Not sure if the site has been hacked or infected or whatever, but the blog site apparently contains some kind of dodgey software that will "destroy" my laptop if I use it to blog. I don't know if anyone else is having this problem????

Just to say though, that blog service will be fully resumed, when I have fully recovered.

I haven't been totally idle though. AsI sweated it out inbetween the sheets over the festive season, I started a new writing venture at Wordpress - a new blog for more "serious" and thematic writing that doesn't quite have its place on this blog. I'll put up the llink when the new blog has been fully "constructed."

So, for this first post of 2013, it simply remains for me to wish you all a happy and healthy New Year - this is France, where, thankfully we have the entire month of January to wish each other a happy new year - in French terms at least therefore, I am still reasonably early with my new year greetings.

More blog posts when I feel better and find something to write about - I supose there is plenty to write about, but, nothing that inspires me for the moment. So, we had the Gérard Depardieu tax exile scandal. We had the announcement that the 2013 Tour de France will start in Yorkshire and on January 1st in France, we had a long list ofeverything that is going up - taxes, postage stamps, rail fares, and thankfully the national minimum wage. However the measly increase in the latter will barely cover the other increases. Ah 2013 - buisness as usual.

Happy new year folks.
